Hi david1949, not having a Garmin myself the following is a bit of guess work on my behalf so, please bear with me if it's not completely accurate.
The POI's for the Garmin need to be installed from PC to SatNav ALL at the same time using Garmins POI Loader. Each installation overwrites/deletes the POI's already on your device.
I have read that many people here have a Folder on their PC desktop called something like "POI", they download and then unzip the POI.zip files required into this Folder (i.e. Aires, SpeedCams, PostOffices, etc, etc). Then, using POI Loader, all the unzipped POI's are transferred at once.
Because of this, I am uncertain if it is possible to have a separate set of POIs installed on an SD card which you can "pop in or out".
For a full set of instructions about installing POIs on your Garmin have a look at the Installation Guide or Video by CLICKING on "Speed Cameras" on the first line at the top of this page and following the link for "Installation Guides".
Hopefully a Garmin user shall be along soon to offer some 1st hand advice. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Yes, AliOnHols is correct. I bought a Garmin earlier this year.
Create a folder on your laptop, download/unzip all the PoI sets you want into there and then use the Garmin PoI Loader to transfer them.

David, It appears that you are still having problems.
Please explain more fully what you are trying to do, how far you have got, what you have tried, why it didn't work and what happened next.
To reply, click on the "Post Reply" button near the bottom left of this page rather than starting a new thread.

Maybe not, but in the circumstances let's leave it here for now! |

David, From Andy_P's links above I have downloaded the French Aires in .csv format. It contains about 700 locations.
If you are not able to get the links to work for you, please click on the "PM" button at the bottom of this message, send me your e-mail address and I shall e-mail you the file. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

David, Did you manage to install the Aires? If so, have you tested them?
I have just opened the file in Google Maps (using GpsVisualizer.com) and the few locations I chose at random appear to be on waste/common land. So rather than designated Aires or Campsites, I get the impression that these POIs are locations where campers have chanced their luck and managed to park-up over night without services or payment.
Just thought I'd let you know my findings before you depart on your holidays. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
