After reading through dozens and dozens of postings about the Myguide 3100, and other models.........Has anyone found a way to get any updates, or support of any kind from the manufacturers? Mine has been useless from day one. The internal battery is so soft it won't hold a charge long enough to do any setup or pre-programming for a journey so I have to sit in the car to do it. And the myguide website has disappeared. Are people having the same trouble with the IGO products? These are the same or similar I think.
The thing that troubles me is that these units are still being sold. Just Google Myguide 3100 and see how many are out there!

the seller is responsible,by law, to fix your problem if its still in warranty Take /send the unit back,recorded delivery,contact your local trading standards for help,mine was very helpful
My Snooper Strabo was faulty,2 of them were replacements, and the seller gave me a refund when asked .

even out side of warranty your argument is with the retailer who sold you it. you purchased it to do a specific job which it doesn't do - therefore it is not fit for purpose and you are bang to rights to get a refund from the retailer. myguide have since gone bust unfortunately but try the shop you bought it from.

just read the posters profile and see he is in France so I do not know if their trading laws are like ours !.
Ps I did not know MyGuide had gone bust! I guess thats why I got my 3100 so cheap( £50 or so) from Netto.
Its a great unit limited only by battery life

Fair comment guys, but I bought the unit from a PDA outlet on the internet. UK based I believe. I feel inclined to live with its little problems now rather than engage in battle with an online trader. The purpose of my posting was mainly to warn others of the pitfalls before they get tempted by the low prices of these things. By the way, as you asked.....consumer rights in France are the pits. You're better off moaning to the bods in Brussels than trying to get anywhere with a retailer here. I'd like to think its just because I'm a "foreigner" here but its much the same for the locals. Only they are better at French swearwords than me.

It's the first that I have heard that MyGuide has gone bust. Guess that why my 4200 was only £69 at Morrisons. They recently revamped their web site which seems strange if they were about to go bust. I did notice that the fourm had disappeared and not everything worked.

Can I get camera updates anywhere without having to pay for them? (ever hopeful!)

My MyGuide 4200 car charger cable no longer works. I can still recharge via the mains but the charge will not hold for long enough on long journeys. The satnav bought from Morrisons is just outside the 2 year guarantee.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a replacment? The only one I can find has a usb at one end which is no good. Mine has a small round hollow pin at the satnav end and a cigarette lighter socket at the other end.

Unfortunately, the charger shown in the link with the round pin was not deleivered. Instead I received one with a USB socket! Despite returning it with a photo from their web site all they have done is to give me a refund but have not sent the item I requested.

This firm which goes under several names: chargerstore, flatbatt, etc don't have a telephone number on their web site nor do they reply to emails so don't use them.

I have Googled again but cannot find the charger I need. Even Maplins don't have one. Any other ideas?

As I have changed cars since the problem occurred I don't think that the car socket is the problem. i think it is the round pin end which plufs into the unit. My daughter has a TomTom and she says it has a usb plug not a round pin. Are all TomTom car chargers the same?

Input is 12-24v 0.4-1.34A. Output is 5v 2A. The curly lead is moulded to the cigarette lighter plug and there does not appear to be a way of opening it.
