Hoping someone can help... My DNX5220bt has been working fine for 2 years or more and then 1 day it decided to reset itself. I had done nothing different to normal, just turned the car engine on. Then 2 weeks later the same thing happened. All of my favourites were lost which is really frustrating.
2 questions really:
1, why has this happened
2, is there any way to back up my favourites so I dont have to try and remember all of those places I have stored
Many thanks

Not sure why this is in the Speed Camera Forum? I've moved this to the TT Forum.
Losing favourites is a known and long standing TomTom issue. Often occurs after a firmware update.
Simple solution is to backup the mapsettings.cfg file (found in your map folder). Then, if you lose your favourites simply copy the file back to restore them.
However, given the issues we recommend you use a custom POI file rather than favourites to store your locations. _________________ Darren Griffin |

i dont know why it was in the speed camera forum either! If only it were so simple as to do as you suggest - I am using the Kenwood head unit (5220) and have no way of connecting it to a pc. |

Crikey, second time I've done that this week, apologies! Completely missed the Kenwood reference.
I'm not aware of similar issues being reported for Kenwood/Garmin users but I'll now move this into the Factory Fit and In-Dash forum where it may be better seen by other Kenwood owners.
Sorry again! _________________ Darren Griffin |
