If you wish to go from Calais to Poland, using zoned maps on a 550, is there any way of getting a route?

I managed to achieve one by using an on-line route finder (Michelin) to identify an overnight stop in Germany that was on the route. I then used the Western Zone for the first part of the journey between Calais and the hotel. Once at the hotel, I then had to use my lap-top to load the Eastern Zone map and plot the second half of the journey. This was repeated for the return.

Is there any way to reduce this faff, apart from upgrading to a 950?

You could have two SD cards one set up with one map and the other with the second map and just swap cards at the convenient point. Or one internal map and another on a SD card. Or a large SD card with the single map on it.

Start a Facebook group giving TomTom hell for this stupidity. They provided a Brian Blessed voice when somebody did that! Rolling Eyes

The Go-550 has a MicroSD card slot which supports up to 32GB capacity, this is more than enough to hold all the maps TomTom currently have available including the bloated European ones.

To be honest with a Go-550 I wouldn't bother with more than an 8GB capacity card as that will suffice for Europe and North America with plenty to spare - Mike

Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Ouch! Egg on faceycon! I'm sitting here beside my 550 and never even noticed that little slot hole thing. I'm getting confused with the lack of internal storage as in my XL Live IQ.

Humble grovel apologies for offering completely dud information.

Dennis,

Is your momentary lapse due to your being tired, old or a man? Wink

Not that simple. It's a combination of all three, plus a hi-spec PC which is falling over, several laptops, 3 printers, an iPhone, a crosscut shredder, six TomToms and being on a diet. You youngsters don't know you're born! Rolling Eyes

Edit to add..... I forgot to mention the blanket weed in the pond.
