|
|
Hi,Just bought a Orange SPV M2000 which was advertised as "Unlocked for all Networks".
I put in a new O2 sim and received the message "Invalid sim card"
and the same for a Virgin sim?,both cards worked in other unlocked 'phones?.
Then put in a ASDA sim, this worked ok,came up as O2 not the normal "ASDA" but as stated worked OK.
I contacted the chap I bought it from and he informed me that he had it unlocked for all Networks but only used an Orange chip? I am puzzled by this.
Does this sound like a 'phone that has been unlocked for all Networks?
he told me to have it unlocked again.
I would like your opinions please.
Thanks

I would look in to re flashing the ROM away from the Orange one loaded, there are plenty of third party ROM's available for the HTC BlueAngel (which is the true name for your new phone) - Plenty of additional information on This Page. Further down the same page you will see a link to information about unlocking the SIM etc.
If you somehow load an O2 ROM to the phone make sure when its loaded you start it in "Corporate" mode (pin code is 0506) otherwise it loads tons of O2 crap on the phone that makes it useless (I had endless hours of "fun" with this issue when I first got a HTC BA) - Mike |

I have just loaded TomTom 5.21 on the unit and it runs ok,is it possible to run it without the Bluetooth device?
Thanks again,

If you can find a serial port GPS receiver then positional data can be fed in via the dock connector along with power from the ciggy lighter, I know they used to make these as I had one (I gave it away a few years ago), but it was something like This Without power to the phone you will flatten it in a very short period, without GPS the map won't show you a great deal - Mike |
