Using Speed Camera warnings in Germany

I’ve searched the Forum and can’t seem to find any discussion on this issue …. ref http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/touring_tips/germany.pdf , which says :

A GPS based navigation system which has maps indicating the location of fixed speed cameras must have the ‘fixed speed camera PoI (Points of Interest)’ function deactivated. Should you be unable to deactivate this function the GPS system must not be carried.

This mentions Switzerland only, but explains how to isolate the warnings in Germany.

OK, but this raises a few questions. Is the Pocket GPS World community aware of this? What is the impact upon the 3rd party speed camera POIs?

It is for this very reason that Swiss cameras are not included in the pgpsw database (no need to delete them, there aren't any).

Search and you will find there has been a lot of discussion as to whether a ban applies in other countries too - no conclusive comment has been reached.
