Morning Folks
Have a Go 540 Live about 15 months old.
Last night set off for home and could not access Live Services, got the yellow triangle in the traffic bar, but unusually also an icon I have not seen before, best described as a picture of a satelliite dish with a red cross next to it (in the same place as where you get a phone with a red cross through it if your phone is not connected)
Also on the network screen as well as saying not connected, I do not have any entries in the 4 fields called Device IDEI etc
I have not downloaded the latest application as I had seen on here that it was causing problems and the problem has just started out of the blue, ie fine in the morning, broke in the evening.
Have tried all the usual stuff such as factory reset, restoring a backup from Explorer etc but to no avail, so it's not looking good.
Any ideas?
Is the device likely to be repairable cost effectively?
Thanks in advance for any help |

Battery or charging problems could cause this, if the battery is low the unit turns off the SIM, whether this a design feature or it just fails, I do not know. The battery charging is software controlled so this can cause problems but you have done resets etc which usually clear this.
Just check the unit is fully charged and that the power lead in the car is still fully working. I have noticed before that the USB lead can be plugged into the mount enough to put the LED on but not fully enough to charge. Watch the battery icon from the status screen when the unit should be charging to see that it is animated.
I have seen that crossed out satellite icon before but it is not documented anywhere and I did ask here a year or so ago and there were a few suggestions. _________________ Drivelux |

Thanks for the suggestion, but all seems fine with the battery, definitely charging up when connected, and has a decent level of charge at present. |

Try putting it in and out of flight mode, this can sometimes kick start the SIM. _________________ Drivelux |

Nope, no luck with that either, I might try some jump leads in a minute! |

Just in case, you've not updated to the new firmware have you? That stops the SIM working... |

No, fortunately I spotted on here that it was not a good idea so I didn't update. |

I have a vague recollection of someone opening up their x40 device and reseating the sim card, after which it worked OK. HOWEVER I'd hesitate to say that this was a known fault, or advocate the solution. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

I had this recently with mine. Take it out of the car and leave it in the docking station on your pc overnight (even better is you have a wall charger). It was a power issue on mine even though it was charging and shown as having charge. |

Have you tried running the clearflash tool a few times - amazing what odd faults can disappear after a clearflash. |

Tried all these suggestions now, except reseating the sim card as I wouldn't know where to start.
Thanks to everyone who has tried to help, still awaiting a response from Tom Tom who are doing there usual world famous impression of a chocolate fireplace! |
