Having used both TT V1 & 2 I've been experiencing a problem with TT V3 that I don't think exists in previous versions.
The problem started when I was driving home and the Navigator screen was showing all the correct directions and island exits etc etc, but I was continually being told to do a u-turn. As a result I though I'd exit TT and noticed that there was another version of TT running in the back ground but with a different route.
I also experience slowness, and when I've checked the running applications there was multiple version of TT running.
I'm sure there should be a very simple check at startup time that ensures that there isn't a version of TT already running, thus removing this problem. |

I've had a similar experience - map showing the correct route but the voice commands relate to some other destination. Must admit I didn't troubleshoot it so can't offer any views on what might have happened. Don't think in my case there could be multiple TTN versions running as I installed TTN3 after a hard reset. _________________ Tony

I don't think it is a bug as such. I start TT from button 2 on the XDA and have a couple of times double pressed it and got 2 copies of TT running.
Just tried it on the cradle and managed to get 3 copies running on the 4th it came up insufficent memory available. It would be better if TT wasv able to detect that it was already running. _________________ Graham.

That makes a lot od sense, Graham - I also start TTN3 from a hardware button and I could well have been playing around with different routes before I went on the road. It's possible that unknowingly I had double launched it as you say. It's only happened the once in 12 months of using TTN. _________________ Tony

I've had this happen when calendar is open and ttn3 won't start - thinking I've not pressed it correctly I give another jab or 6 and then remember calendar is open - closing calendar causes all the instances of ttn3 to open and at least one will give you voice instructions to your previous destination (the one it was set to go to - hence the U turn instruction as you drive away from it) - whilst the on screen map will guide you as expected.
the most I've had running was 8 ttn3's! - very impatient that day - hopefully they will correct this soon.

Yes this is exactly the problem, a button assigned to start TT, a simple code change to check to ensure another version is not already running would solve this. I cannot see any reason why you would want two copies of TT running at the same time? |
