|
|
I've dropped something on my screen and now the unit is unusable as it doesn't function as a touch screen.
Is the screen replaceable?
Is my only option to return it to TomTom if it is replaceable and wait months for it to come back or is it something I can do myself/get done elsewhere?
Also, roughly how much does it cost?
TIA

The screens are not easily available as spares, and I think the cost of a repair would be a more then the price of a second hand device.
There are a couple of other repairers if you do a forum search for them, but I expect the price would still be around £70 at least?
All I can suggest is searching ebay for a machine that has been broken in a different way and asking here for advice on swapping the screen over once you've got it.
EDIT: or a quick Google found THIS, but it's not a job for the faint-hearted. |

I've blown the usb power on my 520. I'll take it apart. If it isn't an easy fix then I'll have a screen for sale ![Smile](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

These people www.satnavrepairservice.com will quote online. They just replaced my battery for £24.95 plus postage and it was back in less then a week.
Excellent service and constant status updates. _________________ TT Go Essential |

I saw a phone unlocking shop in a shopping mall claiming to replace broken sat nav screens !!
No idea if they could do the job but just noticed it as I went past !! maybe an avenue to try in your local area |
