|

Did a run out with the XL Classic running yesterday.
No Voice alert on speedcams ?
Ive downloaded the latest speedcam database to the W&CE folder and the voices as suggested to the 'Sounds' Folder yet.....nothing?
Any ideas? _________________ Blessed are the Ham Makers |

Not a lot of detail to go on...
Are you seeing the alerts on screen?
Have you done the set up as described?
To set up EACH camera type, you go to Change preferences/Manage POIs /Warn when near POI, then:
Choose the first PocketGPS... camera speed and type
Select a warning distance + tap 'OK'
Select a sound file -- at this step you should HEAR the audio and get the message "Is this the sound you want to select?". Do you hear it then? |

Are we talking the One XL with sd card only memory? It was my first satnav. Don't think the software version supports voice warnings, but it was a long time ago. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

I've never heard that before. AFAIK It's only the recent Start and "v2" of the XL that don't have access to "warn when near" setup.
Voice warnings have worked on every other model since the Go Classic.

OK, so if you can remember what speed the mobile sites were at, can you go back to the set up menus and go to that mobile site's POI category in "warn when near"
When you select it, the TT sould say "Do you want to remove the warning?" Tap "No" and it will take you through the distance and voice settings again. Is the correct soundfile already selected? (It should be darker then the rest). If you tap on it a gain do you hear it?
If that all goes OK, can you remember where you saw one of the mobile sites?
Go to "Prepare route", pick a start point and destination a few hundred yards on either side of the camera location (using "Point on map" each time). Then as soon as the route is calculated (within the ten seconds the route summary is still on screen), tap on "Details" and then on "Show route demo" .Keep the speed around 200%. The TT should then perform exactly as if you were driving on the same route and sound all the alerts.
Oh , and finally... the database in the 910 is upto date isn't it?
Sorry if that's obvious, but I'm tying to cover all the bases! |

All working now. Many thanks for the help.
In all honesty I dont actually know what the problem was.
What I did was delete all speedcams and voices.
reset the TomTom
Reloaded speedcams and voices (same place they were before)
And for some unknown reason they now work?
