Yes i did finally sort it out after phoning up TomTom customer support and being put on hold for a long time. It seems that TomTom Home was for some reason offering me a version of the 850 map which was not compaticle with my 750 Live, the wrong article number i was told. My account was assigned the correct map and later that night was able to download the zoned Western European version onto my SD card. I was surprised that i did not lose my favourites, speed camera warnings etc as expected and did not have to copy back the map settings file to do this as seen here in the forums. I did do an operate my divice through Home before starting it up disconnected from the PC and stored a new favourite.
When i later did a manage maps to see if i could now download the full map not the zoned version, i could only see the zoned versions not the full one. I was not bothered about this for the present as i have no plans to use it abroad.
I had the same problem with my 750 Live that I purchased not a few hours ago from Halfords. I rang up TomTom, they said it's an ongoing issue with new 750s. The version being offered is the version that's compatible with x20/x30 devices apparently. Anyway, they changed the map version linked to my account, and bingo - the correct version appeared when I selected 'Update my GO' (Zoned version). Downloading now.

I wonder what map they will install on new 750s that are currently in production and will they give the 760 or whatever it is called a larger memory? _________________ Drivelux
Not good for users of the XL IQ and XL IQ Live though with the USB 1 ports as large data transfers can take some considerable time, I wonder how long before we see posts from people going on holiday with the wrong map region loaded!
This makes the inclusion of a memory card slot OR a large amount of built in flash memory all the more vital on any TomTom device - Mike
My problem exactly just purchased XXL IQ version. I now find that to navigate seamlessly through Europe I will have to cart the laptop with me because a bean counter at TT has done away with the SD slot.
I purchased a full European map from TT but because they won't invest in larger memory for their devices. Surely a case for misrepresentation against TT they should be advertising all 2gb models as "limited maps of Europe"
That will promote Garmin to the top seller spot in a stroke.
Incidental this model also has an MP3 player but with the tiny 2gb memory stuffed to the brim and no SD slot presumably you will have play it on the laptop you will need to take !!
TT should be prevented from using the term Portable navigation unless of course they start giving customers a free laptop to change zones while travelling
KOYLI 55
XXl IQ....Limited European Maps, No space for additional POI and music
Bought in good faith. Let down by false descriptions.
