I have just bought a brand new TTXL Classic from Ebay. (quite cheap, the 910 wont fit on the Cobra)
Now one little gem I just experienced is the street numbers. I tap in my friends number, 97, and it tells me there is no such number.
Now I also have a TT910 and it does recognise 97 and all other street numbers I have.
Is there something (Postcodes??) that I could take from the 910 and bung it on the XL Classic that would recognise the correct street numbers?
I suppose its a daft idea but worth a punt. _________________ Blessed are the Ham Makers |

The Postcode Files can be used on either Device, no problem.
However, street number data is held in the Map Files, not the Postcode Files. Have a look at the version numbers of both Maps.
I suspect one is somewhat older than the other. _________________ Richard

Yes, but it is likely that the OLDER map has the better data.
I've raised this point with TomTom as I have several examples where the v840 or 845 map had a road with SOME of the numbers missing, but the v850 map says "numbers not available for this street".
i.e. the data is getting WORSE. |

I was making the point that the two Maps were different versions. _________________ Richard

Many thanks gents
It would indeed seem that the older machine has more info.
I did a test last night of 'Navigating' to several known addresses and with the new XL Classic it failed to recognise several of the house numbers inputted, yet it would recognise the number above or below it?
A bit annoying. _________________ Blessed are the Ham Makers |
