The story behind your username

Well you can probably guess that my name is Gerry and my surname starts with a C right? But how did I get the nickname Gerry in the first place?

I was known as Gez throughout school (and now by the family as that's what my nieces know me as) but when I started work there was already a Jas in the office and it was getting confusing. Somehow, people started calling me Gerry as an alternative when shouting across the office and it just stuck.

The worst bit is that I've forgot the story behind "MaFt" even though you've told me it yourself. Embarassed

Not very interesting i'm afraid my first name is Paul, take that out of my username and you're left with my surname.

well, my 'real' name is Matthew. at home i was always called 'Maff' but when i went to uni i decided that Maff sounded a bit too childish so i told everyone to call me Matt. it worked for a while until friends started coming home and heard me being called Maff.

the 2 got merged together to become MaFt. also, around that time it was 'fashionable' to use varying cases when writing things so the 'F' got capitalised.

since 2000 i have been known solely as MaFt.

there you have it!

at CeBIT in germany a couple of years ago someone from Nav N Go (hungary) asked where my parents were from and the origins of 'MaFt' as a name :D

To be really boring: My name is Richard and the first time I had to create an identity was for a very early on-line newsletter and you had to subscribe over the phone and the UserId required one that had 10 alpha numeric characters.

Try coming up with something smart in a split second on the phone!
