Try doing the update using a card reader... I did the update using my 4GB SDHC card in a card reader and Home gave me the choice of one download or options (which I didn't bother with) - for the Western Europe map.
Download went smothly, copied over mapsettings.cfg from my backup, created a new favourite and all went smoothly. Favourites, POIs, warning sounds all miraculously survived
First stress free update for some time.... Haven't tried the map out yet, however. _________________ GO 750 Live HD Traffic, Map Europe 930, Navcore 9.510 |

I wonder if TT will offer users with 2GB devices the 2GB version of the Europe map as the expanded version will no longer work on those devices? _________________ Drivelux |

Not sure i follow.
Those with 2 Gb devices ARE being offered the 2 Gb map, however it's now bigger than 2 Gb plus you have to take into account the NavCore eats into the 2 Gb storage space allowance. It was tight when the 845 map was just over 1.8 Gb...
All TT have done is offer a bigger 4 Gb (with more detail) map split into portions under 2Gb... |

My 940 has just finished updating and only has a single 2,21GB Western_and_Central_Europe map folder installed (Build 2800), that said there is plenty of space on the device since I removed the North American map quite some time ago - Mike |

Is this map being offered to 950 Live owners yet? I can see new maps in the "Add maps" with version 850.2802 that might be the one I am expecting but HOME is not offering it to me as an update automatically.
I have subscribed to the 2year map update service but I am suspicious that TT have screwed up when activating it on my account.
Also, I am not being offered the navcore 9.053 update through HOME yet. Is anyone else with a UK 950 LIVE seeing it? Can I force HOME to offer it?

Strangely enough, Europe_850.2800 and Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_850.2800 are almost exactly the same size. WaCE is actually slightly larger.
Europe is 2,374,959,104 bytes
WaCE 2GB is 2,375,122,944 bytes
edit: changed map sizes to exclude fuel and speedcam data

At what point does it become obvious whether the full map or the 'chunked' version is being applied?
I've started downloading, 3+ hours remaining. So far it's not asked me which zone I want to apply... will that come later, or is it installing the full shebang? |

Thanks.
I did see a 'change region' link below the map when it was offered but didn't click it, and so far it hasn't asked me any specific questions. So fingers crossed. |

Not impressed with this - the idea of having a device with a European Map on it is that it covers Europe - not just some of it and you have to take a laptop with you and change maps! |
What a load of rubbish they have left us with. |

It only asks if the map won't fit on the unit. |
