I'm using an iPhone 4 with a TomTom mount (with the extra padding as discussed elsewhere)
It seems to need inserting and removing at a more acute angle, I wonder if this will have any long term effects on the connector in the iPhone? |

Not sure how the holder works ,but if you put your Iphone and plug it in to the holder and do not clip it back it does not work ,but i think when the actual plug is tipped back it makes a contact within the holder itself, and then powers up the Iphone ect.
I could be wrong of cause but that is my thoughts _________________ Iphone x 64gb IOS 11.3.1 / IPhone 6 Plus 32gb IOS 12 beta /Volkswagen Scirocco R 280 bhp /Suzuki Vitara swb vvt+ /Suzuki Jimny special/running Apple Mac Mini / Apple air/ iPhone x /6 plus navigation / Apple car-play |

For anyone looking to purchase the expensive TT car kit, I found it cheaper at handtec.co.uk
For iPhone: £77.89 / £66.29 exc vat
For iPod Touch: £60.98 / £51.90 exc vat
I ordered one and confirm that by slipping in a bit of felt pad for padding, it works fine with iPhone 4.

I just noticed on TomTom's Website that the iPhone 4 is now supported by the car kit.
It looks like they have started selling them with an iPhone 4 adaptor. I've raised a support call asking how to get an adaptor retrospectively and the initial response was that I needed to buy a new Car Kit - not a happy boy |

Quote: | In order to have your car kit for iPhone work with iPhone 4, you need the adapter for iPhone 4. This is included in our packaging from September 1st 2010. If you have bought a car kit before September 1st 2010, you can claim your adapter here as of 10 September 2010. |

That's great news as I'd seen this on the Car Kit pages and been told by TomTom support I'd have to buy a new kit. That was only a few days ago so it's a shame they don't communicate internally.
Thanks for posting it |
