|

I looked into updating the UK and Ireland map on my GO 930T. Tomtom are offering the latest Western and Central Europe map update plus 18 months of quarterly updates for £67.60 (a discounted price).
Will this be the UK and Ireland map as well as Western Europe? Are we classed as Western Europe or should I just do the UK and Ireland?
I like the thought of the updates offer, but am not really interested in European maps as I don't leave these shores by car.
As a further item, if I update my maps, do all my POI's and cameras get wiped?
Cheers guys..... _________________ From TomTom One to a 730T, then a 930T, now a 1005... |

The Western_Europe map contains all the data from the UK&ROI map as well as mainland Europe so the UK is certainly covered.
If you don't want the European map check out the price for the UK&ROI but don't be surprised if it works out more costly, if its cheaper then go for that, if not don't spend too much time trying to work out the pricing strategy that TomTom apply!
Make a full backup of you existing map BEFORE the update as there is no way of knowing whether you will lose the POI files etc, it shouldn't do but I would make a back up just in case - Mike |

Many thanks Mike. I've done a back-up, these Tomtom's make me nervous as hell even when applying day to day updates, so much so that I backup before updating pretty much each time!! _________________ From TomTom One to a 730T, then a 930T, now a 1005... |

Well, I can confirm that it deleted all your favourites, but left the speed camera database and POI's intact.
Oh, nearly forgot, the update worked like a charm. TomTom got it right, at last!! _________________ From TomTom One to a 730T, then a 930T, now a 1005... |
