I've upgraded the ios on my iphone 3G to 4, updated my Tom Tom Europe from version 1.3 to v1.4
Installed in the Tom Tom car kit I have the following problems:
1) iPhone not charging. Battery from 45% to 25% in 20 mins and TT car kit in powering the device. iphone is also hot.
2) GPS lag
3) loss of GPS signal or wrong location
Is anybody else having these sorts of problems |

I had GPS issues with my 3GS running the GM version of iOS 4 with an upgrade installation. When the final version was released, I did a restore installation which sorted these problems out. Did you do an update or restore on your iPhone? _________________ Phil Lee

I did a retore installation.
I've since set the phone up as a new phone and am only loading apps that are indicating tested or stating iOS4 compliant.
I'll try the TT V1.4 over the weekend. |

Since upgrading to OS4 my 3G doesn't seem to charge properly in the car kit regardless of running TT1.4 or not.
My iPhone 4 arrives on Monday, will check difference then. _________________ Mike

I can report that having set up my iphone 3G as a new phone with iOS4 and only loading apps that state they have been updated or tested with iOS4 appears to have cured the issues I had on Friday with lag, GPS position and charging in the TT holder |

I spoke to an Apple support gentleman today about my new iPhone 4 and he admitted that a 3G phone running OS4 will be slower than running OS3.xx, but he didn't know of any battery issues. _________________ Mike
