TT One Start V5

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a TT unit that is compatible with the PocketGPSWorld speed camera database.
I am currently considering the TomTom ONE START V5

I have looked at the list of supported units on this site, but I'm a bit confused (easily done). As it states that "START" units are not supported, but that "ONE series" all versions are supported.

So is the One Start V5 supported ?

If it isn't, what other budget units are there that support the pocketGPSWorld database, full post code search and a European Map ?

I must admit I've never heard of a model called the "ONE START V5"!
Where have you seen it? Got a web link?

The only models TomTom are currently selling new, are the ones shown on their website HERE.

TomTom's dreadful naming system, often confuses the retailers and they end up with non-existant model names on their display stands! (I've seen this in Currys, Halfords etc.)

The ones to avoid are the START '2' and the Xl '2' models (the "2" is tiny) as those do not have the required POI management features.

So you need to be looking at the XL (not "2") models, the XXL, or the Go ranges.

There are also some excellent refurbished earlier models at great prices in the TomTom "outlet store". These are usually indistinguishable from brand new and we often recommend getting the Go530 (UK maps) or Go730 (Europe maps).

Avoid the Start model completely - from day one it had the 'Simplified' menu and therefore no custom POI support.

Sorry to jump in here, I'm having a similar dilemma as my ONE 4N00.005 is on its last legs.

Been looking at the recently discontinued ONE v5 IQ Routes edition, if it does support external POIs, however if it does I am worried that TT might roll out a new update that will disable external OV2 POIs in the future.

May end up getting an x30 at this rate.

The value of:
1. Having a recent Explorer, not Home backup
2. Not being the 'first on the block' if and when a new application is offered!
