Not really a Satmap issue, more of a Satsync issue.
Why have the default configuration on Satsync to be to set the name of imported tracks based on the filename - surely if the information is in the track name in the GPX file, it should be used by default. If it's not needed, it could then be disabled.

I believe there's an option in SatSYNC (use the "Settings" button) to select just this - i.e. you can choose: "Make the Route name the same as the name inside the file" - it goes on to give an example. This is what I've selected and if I import a .gpx file called "tracks.gpx" with say, four tracks in it named [Trk1], [Trk2], etc they show up as Trk1 etc.
That's right, but the default setting is to use the filename to derive the track name.
If the information is not in the file, then it would make sense to use the filename to create the waypoint name, but if the information is available it makes sense to use it (why else would the creator of the file have bothered filling it in?)
Personally, I think that the setting should be:
1) Favour track names from GPX file (default)
2) Create track names from GPX filename (optional)
For option 1, if the track name isn't available, then it could be derived from the filename instead.

OK, I see what you mean now, sorry. And yes, I agree.
For geocaching: Would like to see the upper side buttons used to jump to hint and logs. Now you have to scroll through the description, and if that description is very long it's very slow.
Beep alerts: would love to have a setting that allows you to choose for which things it will beep, for example, choose to have it only beep for POI's but not for waypoints, or vice versa. When I have a route along a number of geocaches I don't necessarily want to be alerted for the waypoints on the route but would like to be alerted to the POI's (geocaches) along the route. Would also be nice to be able to set the distance at which it starts alerting you.
Try the set warning radius option to determine when it bleeps, not sure if it does.
Do you use GSAK? if you do I can send you a macro that will put the Hints at the top of the page before the description - send me a PM with your email address.

I'd like to see an option where you can assist the Satmap to acquire your position when first switched on by clicking your rough position on the map, which presumably should help it to get GPS lock a lot quicker than at present? This is based on my experience with an iPhone which seems to be able to get GPS lock within seconds, using the cellular network to get an initial rought starting position?

A better way of showing a route. The current thick orange line obscures map detail and is particularly irritating on 1:25K maps. Either a thinner, more transparent line, or an option on one of the buttons to momentarily hide it.
Only been out wth my new Acive 10 once and this was a major problem for me, especialy in bright sunlight. Had to resort to continualy clearing goto point, then reinstating.
Please can we have option to hide rather than just clear routes, ect.

This is a major gripe of mine too. A less obtrusive way of showing the route would be very welcome!
