|

Hi,
I have a Kenwood DNX78220BT. My problem is that when I update the SD card with either speed cams or POI’s on the existing POI file, it does not have the old details?
For example:-
My SD card contains (and working) speed cams files. I get a new batch of POI’s and use the Garmin POI loader. I choose, ‘Install New Custom POI’s’ and get the OK message. When I check the file it has removed the previous ‘speed cam’ details and now only holds the newly uploaded ‘POI’s’
Any help is greatly appreciated?
Regards

Hi and welcome.
You have to install ALL the POIs and Speed Cams EACH time. Not just the new ones. Keep a folder for the POIs and Speed Cams on your PC and then update as necessary. Each time load ALL the POIs and Speed Cams to the unit.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your help. I placed both speed cams & POI's csv's etc into one single folder from thier retrospective zip files & after uploading to the SD card via GarminPOI loader & then onto the 8220BT it works:)
Howver, i can see the bitmap for POI's, i only get grey 'dots' for the speed cams?
Thanks again for you help

Grey dots are caused by 2 things.
1 - More than 255 categories installed - i.e. you have too many POIs installed.
2 - The icons are missing or do not have EXACTLY matching names. Check your upload folder and make sure each Speed Camera file (CSV) has a BMP file with EXACTLY the same name. |

Hi,
I took your advise & reduced the number of POI's . Starting with a few, checked they worked & increased,,,finally got all POI's & cams with icons
As for the lottery, if your 'cunning' advise is to put every variation of numbers , then ??

Thanks.
To win the lottery buy a ticket befoe the draw but make sure the numbers you select are the same as the ones they draw on Saturday night. Might take a couple of goes to work but i have heard some people have had success.... Remember me when you win... |
