I suspect that you might have missed this report in the Ross-shire Journal

Quote:
Sat nav mishap led to the dock

Published: 10 June, 2010

A GERMAN holidaymaker knocked a motorcyclist unconscious when he drove into his machine during a right-hand turn while following wrong directions from his sat nav.
....................

Quote:
"His intention seems to have been to go to Inverness then on to Loch Ness." He said his car, which is thought to have been a hired vehicle, was equipped with a sat nav system.

"It seems to be giving him entirely inaccurate information as they often do," he said.

"He was travelling on the straight road near the new auction mart and the GPS told him to turn right to go to Inverness, which is completely the wrong direction.

"That would have taken him into the mart, which is effectively a cul-de-sac." He said Wedemeyer waited for traffic to pass until he made the turn, and simply did not see the motorbike.

The headline does not say "to blame", it reads "led to".

The motorbike was coming towards him not behind him.

He made a mistake which he admitted.

surely a better headline would be 'un-attentive driver, not paying attention, knocks man off bike' ?

Shocked
