Terrible of TomTom to reduce their prices! Can't believe they would treat their customers so badly :D |

OK, I know I started it, but I think we've all given our opinions on whether it's reasonable to expect TT to reimburse people who bought at the higher price. Let's leave that aspect of it now before it turns into a slanging match. _________________ Anita

Both the monthly and 6 monthly options have gone.

Exactly. Although i would prefer to see an iPhone style daily option (59p i believe). With a weekend (saturday - Sunday) set at a £1 and a £2 "long weekend" option (Friday - Monday inclusive) |

If TomTom do not automatically stop the monthly subscriptions it can take up to three months to get out of them. They want at least a months notice then another month is paid for. Even if you can cancel your credit card payment TomTom see that as a breach of contract and you lose any outstanding time you have already paid for. I have been through this when my monthly payments stopped.
One other thing is to check the small print, my first annual subscription was for UK Live Services and my second was for UK & Europe Live Services. Just make sure the new service is the full roaming service. It may be all subscriptions are now full roaming. _________________ Drivelux |

I'd have thought this worthy of being a front page news item:
TomTom in price drop shock! |

It says in the last FAQ on that page that you can still take out a subscription but doesn't appear to give the option when buying.
I pay monthly at the moment but it would make sense to take this 12 month offer instead. I suppose buying the package then cancelling the direct debit would cover it. _________________ Mike

I suspect the FAQ hasn't been updated! |

TomTom took my last monthy payment on 20 May - does this mean that unless I pay for a year, my Live services will now cease without any communication from them? |

I would check with them if you haven't heard from them.
I've got confirmation from TT this is a permanant price drop and not a "special" or limited offer.... |

Will do - I'm happy to pay the £47 now, but knowing them they will continue to take the 7.99 off my credit card as well |

I just noticed that if I check my services on my 540, it says about my subscription ending in in 32 days and would I like to pay £47.50 - however if I say yes I get a message saying the renewal service is currently unavailable |

From a TomTom press announcement (at GPSBusinessNews): In addition, customers who already paid one year subscription will see their remaining months of services to be doubled and those who pay €9.95 on a monthly basis will see their invoice reduced to €4.95. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |
