If I delete my POI.DAT file will it give me any problems?
I starting to get fed up with TTs rubbish POI data and icons, most of which I already have duplicate for from here. _________________ TomTom ONE Series 30 (v8) & TMC traffic

I didn't have any problems, however i would MOVE it to a folder on the PC in case you want to re-install it for any reason. |

I believe you can delete it, but every time you upgrade your map, you will get a new copy downloaded.
Why not just deactivate all the non-PGPSW categories in Change Preferences / Show POI on Map ?
If you do decide to delete or rename the file, ensure that you make a full back-up using Windows Explorer before you do anything else! _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Thanks for the advice. I'll try removing it, I can almost put it back if it causes problems.
I already have them deactivated, but don't always have the PGPSW ones activated either and it's such a pain scrolling through all the TT dross to find the category I want. _________________ TomTom ONE Series 30 (v8) & TMC traffic

When looking for a specific POI category just type a couple of the first letters of the POI name and the device will jump straight to all those with those letters at the beginning of the file name, for PGPSW files just type "PO" (without the "") and the device will list all the Speed Cameras loaded to your device on screen with non of the others - Makes setting up warnings so much faster - Mike |
