|
|
Did a long trip today and not a peep from my NUVI as I pased fixed cameras and known mobile sites. No camera icons appeared either.
I loaded with POI Loader, proximity alerts are on, and I can see the speedcams in the Custom POI directory.
On the return trip I thought I'd switch on the alerts for the Garmin speedcam database and it happily 'bonged' away, so guess it isn't the audio at fault.
I've been using the database on my i3 for quite sometime without any problems and not sure where I'm going wrong with my new toy.
Anyone think of anything I could try? |

It's a few days since I asked for help, so thought I'd try again as I'm having to run the Garmin database at the moment. It actually doesn't seem that bad when I compare it to running the PGPSW one, which I've done for a few few years now, but I've got used to and am comfortable with your database - plus I've got about 6 months of my subscription left!
I did read the sticky in the Garmin forum about alerts only happening if approaching / traveling over the speed limit, and not being a perfect driver I'm sure it should have bonged at least one on my trips - and as I said previously, never had problem with my i3.
Any of the PGPSW crew out there to help? |

Sorry you've not had a response so far.
Have you tried re-downloading and re-installing the database?
You are correct in that the database only alerts when over the speed limit on Garmins. |

Installed the 2 June speed zoned database onto my Nuvi and alerts are now operating as I expected - first time I've had a dodgy download from PC to sat nav
Whilst I haven't fully tested everything I can confirm that I got a warning bong at what my sat nav told me was 25 mph when approaching a mobile site in a 30 limit (grey warnin box appeared) so not operating quite as per the thread I had read, but is exactly what I'd want it to do.
Being a good boy I didn't get as far as hearing repeated bongs or seeing a red box, but am confident that if I'd strayed over the limit that is what I would have got. |

It's possible Garmin have changed the behaviour since that thread was written. |
