|
|
I recently noticed that my Nuvi display seems dimmer than normal! Then I noticed if I power the unit on its internal batteries the brightness returns to normal. It seems that when powered by the mains adaptor or traffic cord in the car the brightness only goes to 30% and will not increase in brightness for each step after, whereas when powered by battery it increases in brightness for each 10% step right up to 100%
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
I've tried downgrading the software, etc. without any success.
Thanks for any help or suggestions... |

Did this start happening after the March 18th firmware update (to V4.90)?
If so, downgrading to an earlier version could be worth exploring...

I did try downgrading without success. I'm now running the latest 4.9
After discharging the battery till empty and then re-charging the battery the brightness seems to have returned to normal levels!
However I've noticed that the mains charger/adaptor still only goes to 30% brightness whereas when the Nuvi is in the car I can now increment in 10% steps to full brightness!
I think this is normal to only a dimmed display when running on mains charger/adaptor. |
