|
|
Hi,
I have set up custom spoken warnings (took me ages!) for the PGPSW speed cameras on my 910 and I now have a new map.
I have copied my speed camera POIs to the new map but I now don't have my custom spoken warnings for them.
Is there a file or something that i also have to copy over to the new map? I really don't fancy having to set up all the customs warnings again if I can help it.
Any advice would be gratefully recieved.
Many thanks in advance. |

The file that contains the set up is "MapSettings.cfg" and its located in the Western_Europe map folder, you can try copying this file and all the POI files from your old map to the new one. If it works great, if the device keeps re-booting connect the device to your PC and use TomTom Home/ Operate My Go to add a Favourite and then it should all work - Mike |

Thanks Mike,
That seems to have worked, but I think the device takes longer to boot up now though.
Are there any potential issues or problems that I should be aware of by copying the MapSettings file over? Will it have any detrimental effect on my new map?
Thanks again,
Matthew |

The MapSettings.cfg file shouldn't slow down the time it takes to boot up, if the device is working and your settings are all the same for the POI warnings I wouldn't worry about it, the old file won't cause any issues with your new map - Mike |

Just one question Mike if I may.
I would love to copy back to new maps mapSettings.cfg but what if TT home does not let me "operate my device" (it always is greyed out"?
Spoke to Tomtom quite a few times about this and they got me to soft and hard resets, clear flash and God knows what else. I have given up now. Read there is
a dll file needed to activate the above function on my Go720, app 830, map 845 but I could not find it.
best

You do the copying with Explorer, not through Home. _________________ David |

That's what I do. I save mapsetting file on desktop, now connect 720, go to sd card and drag the mapSetting file to western Europe folder. Still operate my go is greyed out.
