The alert distance (timing) you set affects the timing of the first alert.
The number of bongs or alerts you get is down to the unit itself. |

Thanks. I've just shortened the time to my first alert so that should cut down on the bongs!

|
|
Camera Manager cannot produce the updated speed camera data. First it show the error message:
"Error opening 'pgpsw-speed-cams-uk.zip' for reading"
followed by:
"Error opening 'output.csv' for reading.
Any ideas? |

Are you using Virgin Media Security? I got the same error messages and traced them to VMS. |

I'm not using Virgin. I have O2 broadband over a BT line. Thanks for your suggestion though.
I haven't changed any firewall/security settings recently but I'll check them. |

Is this the first time you have used Camera Manager, or was it working ok up till now? If it's your first time check with the Help file to make sure you seem to be doing it right - eg some people have unzipped the files themselves, whereas I think CM expects to do it itself; also have you got CM pointing at the right directory with the PGPSW files in?
(I expect you know, but the Help file is found by clicking on the CM icon) _________________ David

Have you got the latest version (3.0)??
When did you last successfully use CM? |

Paulb2005 and BigPerk,
I have been using CM successfully for about a year and did upgrade to the latest version, also successfully. This has just started with the last update. |

Have you tried deleting the 'pgpsw-speed-cams-uk.zip' file and making it generate a new file?
Have you tried opening the 'pgpsw-speed-cams-uk.zip' at all?
Just wondering if you have corrupt download. |

Another thing to try is to make sure you have deleted ALL previously loaded camera files completely, so that you do the new download into an empty folder (not sure if this WILL help at all, but just wondering if old, obsolete, file formats might upset the new version of CM in some way?) _________________ David

I haven't received any other reports, so I'm guessing that this problem is specifc to QX99's setup - I PM'd him earlier with a couple of things to try...
As Barncluith says above, we did manage to track down a problem with Virgin Media Security, which appeared to be meddling with downloaded files - nice... |

All seems to have been resolved now with some prompt and very welcome help from Ash10 - thank you!
The problem seems to have been that the files downloaded/created by Camera Manager 3 disappeared from my POI directory (Why? I have no idea - very strange!). Restoring an old version of the pgpsw-speed-cams-uk.zip file seems to have "kick-started" things again. |

|
|
Have downloaded camera manager and started it up. What I have is:
notification that 'poi directory is not set'
options under the 'directories', 'options' and 'settings' are nearly all greyed out and thus inaccessible.
Is it finger trouble/what can I do to sort?
Many thanks |

Have you installed POILoader? If not, do so.
Have you used it even once? If not, do so (uploadone of the free POI files from PGPSW)
Then CM can get the info it needs.... |
