3.03 but still BT lockups on 2210

That sounds like a BT receiver issue.

I say that because the GPS signals never drop if you use a serial mouse. If your theory is right then serial receivers would be affected?

Hi

i have the Toshiba E740 its the model without bluetooth built in so i have to use a belkin pda bluetooth compact flash model no: f8t006, i find that no matter what i have tried i still get freezes after about 20 mins and have to come out of the tom tom program and then reload it all works again but so annoying and dangerous when driving. and it allways cuts out at junction you dont know or worse. i have tried about 4 sd memory cards as that seem to be a issued at one time all makes of cards still report same problems so i dont believe it got anything to do with memory speeds or type of cards. have tried most of your suggestions to downgrading to a older versoin of gps but still it freezes up. just about given up with this all togather the only thing i can think of doing is to order a Toshiba bluetoth card on sd card slot or other make to try and see if using compact flash for the maps helps. another thing i have tried is to use mmc cards instead of sd cards. no diffrenece keeps crashing still. the only good thing i found out was the data could be written and read much faster. any other ideas please!!! im tearing my hair out over this i am very much upset that tom tom thenselves havent sorted this out still nearly a year since i have brought this. as on their box they say that its supposed to work with the toshiba e740

any help would be helpful thanks

the problem is most likely caused by the bluetooth add on cards.

to be honest I wouldn't throw any more money at it in the form of bt sd cards I'd buy new hardware and ebay what you have.

sounds harsh but when you look at the price of a new dell/hp/acer etc pocketpcs and add the value of a years warrenty compared to the cost of another bt card it doesn't make sense.

The tosh is listed as compatible but is the bt card? You are adding an extra layer onto the spec of the tosh - are there any new drivers for the belkin unit?

The BT dropout experienced by users is/was very much restricted to the 2210/2215 ipaq and sd performance. My 2210 was fine until about 3 weeks ago when it started to do this as well - regardless of make / model of sd card - using cf for the maps made the problem go away. It is not TT fault it didn't work it was the ipaq and or the cards.

I've just upgraded to a dell x50v and the same sd cards and bt gps work fine together...

That's right, with CF as the map storage medium the 2210 works perfectly. I use a 2210 as my test bed workhorse, still going strong after two years.
