At the moment I just have loads of favourite tracks in the MP3 folder and play them at random setting.
If I wanted to create separate albums, (His & Hers) do I just create two new folders within the MP3 folder?
Or is it more complicated than that? |

You can physically move the tracks into "nested" folders (I pasted the default folder layout that iTunes produces - Artist/Album/Song - and it works fine to play them.
BUT, the TomTom doesn't use the folder layout to show you the layouts on-screen. It uses the "ID3 tags" or metadata written into the mp3 file itself.
iTunes has a pretty good id tag editor and adds the right info when you use it to import stuff onto your PC, so if you use iTunes, you can then dump everything (or as much of it as you want) across to the TomTom.
To see the tags and edit them, right click on a track in the main iTunes window, select "show info" from the drop down list, then select the "info" tab.
How you can actually use this to sort the music into two lists for you and your wife, I'm not quite sure.
It might be easier to put all the music onto two SD cards ("his" and "hers") which you then pop in and out. SO long as all the tracks are in a folder called "mp3" on the cards the TomTom will find them. |

Thanks Andy. I reckon she will just have to put up with Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles & Sia etc.
She probably prefers the radio anyway......... |
