I wish Satmap would stop making statements/promises that that they appear not to be able to keep.
Over a year ago I read on another forum a reply from Satmap in response to a query regarding waterproofing that a silicone case would be available "in a few months".
When I visited the Satmap stand at the Cycle Show in October one of their reps said that the Route Planner would become full page in size "after Christmas".Well we are nearly in April and still no change.
Yes I know that next November is still technically "after Christmas".
I wouldn't hold my breath for the supposedly up and coming solar power version.

Ian, if you don't mind I will try and get some answers to these questions on Sunday at the Outdoors Show (NEC) also will be some pictures of this solar charger assuming they have the hardware on display - Mike |

The promised solar charger was at the Outdoor Show (unpriced and not yet available). It is a re-badged Power Monkey. The only difference appears to be the end of the lead that goes to the Satmap. It has a rubber plate design ed to cover the complete port. Unless the price is advantageous I see little point. The existing Power Monkey charges my Satmap. |

Was there any sign of the rubber case at the Outdoors Show? Am starting to think it's just a myth. |

Yes I am starting to think that way as well.
In another post it was said they were for sale before Christmas on this site ( I think ) but they were withdrawn until "after Christmas",someone tried to buy one.

Seems to have been removed now which doesn't bode well.
The retailer blamed Satmap if I remember correctly.
I e-mailed Satmap about two months ago asking when they would be released and they had no idea,it was still in "final testing".
It should be all singing and dancing when/if it does appear the length of time it has taken.
If Satmap is reading this ( and I am told they do ) please don't dangle accessories and upgrades etc. in front of us and then break promise after promise as to when they will be available.
As my first post stated the case was first mentioned by Satmap well over a year ago.

Have just received the Satmap Update mailing for March and there is no mention of the case.
Think I will just forget about it now,it obviously doesn't exist and never will do.
Mrs.Bosun was going to get me it as a birthday present as well.

I spoke to them at the outdoor show and they said that testing had taken longer than expected but that they were actually in manufacture now. Hopefully not long. |

Thanks for that Gibbo,I won't hold my breath though.
There are promises and there are Satmap promises.
Incidentally I don't suppose you know wether the Active10 will fit the bike mount whilst the case is attached do you ?
