After 30 years in the Fire Service I retired in August.
On Wednesday I start my new life as a valued member of society in a new job as a Delivery driver covering Hampshire and Dorset. Hopefully it will be a good move |

Thanks Ripper for looking after us in the Medway Towns for the past 30 years.
To get your deliveries done faster I would suggest you accidently carry out some blues an two's to fit on you new vehicle.
Good luck for the future. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Hampshire & Dorset? That's quite some territory! Are you/have you moved then? _________________ Darren Griffin |

No still living in Medway, its a 2 dayer, Mon, Weds and Friday. Although it sounds big you only go out with 20-25 deliveries. It runs from Basingstoke down along the South Coast from Portsmouth to Swanage and back |

Oh well, you would have looked after me there, if I hadn't moved from SE London to Rainham 40 years ago. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

That's a relief! For a moment I thought this was going to be the beginning of a South-West England, White Van Man, Verifier turf war. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

I don't do carpets. I don't even do packs of carpet tiles. I just do small and light!
Big hairy firemen do big and heavy and I suppose a carpet must feel pretty much the same as a floppy person.
Wouldn't it have been nice to get a good enough pension to not need another job when you retired? _________________ Dennis

Dennis
It's not the pension, it's the fact that:
1: They offered me the job(unusual in these times)
2: I can't sit around at home all day.(I don't play golf)
I have worked for this company on and off through an agency since 1987, hence the job offer when one of their drivers decided to leave.
Oh! and another thing, the carpets are not that heavy being mostly room sized cuts. |

Room sized is BIG and HEAVY. Now doormat sized, that's different.
Have you actually TRIED sitting around? Beats golf easy peasy! _________________ Dennis
