1. On the poi site here, UK by default is checked. Click Refresh for the expanded listing.
2. Click the '+' sign for Food & Drink
3. Check 'wetherspoons'
4. Click on 'Show link'
5. Click on 'download'
6. Next screen, click on Download pois.zip.
7. From the location on your computer where the file got downloaded, extract the 2 files (wetherstones_PWGPS.ov2 and the .bmp file).
8. Use Explorer to copy the 2 files to your specific map folder on your unit. _________________ David |

You forgot the most important thing.........
Make an explorer back-up before attempting any alterations then should anything go wrong you can always restore this |

I don't see how adding any custom .ov2 file would require an Explorer backup first. An application or map, yes. But an ov2 file, nope. _________________ David |

How long have you been running TomTom forums dhn?
If something CAN go wrong, someone will manage to achieve it, however unlikely it is! |

You know when a poster says, "Sorry if this is a dumb question" and we, being polite say, "There are no dumb questions"
Well, I've lied
(and I bet you have as well........)
Good point, Andy. _________________ David |

Thanks to all who replied trying to help me, I am indeed grateful. I would appreciate a more detailed guide of how to get the unzipped wetherspoons list and picture into the correct location on the tomtom one so that it will actually show up and work when the sat nav is used!
And I hope you will forgive me for the squabbling on this post as I am indeed the exception that will prove any mistake or eventuallity can be made or reached.
I am that idiot who asks the dumb question and I would appreciate the 'lie' continue so I and so many other normal non technical normal human beings can feel not embarrassed about asking for the help that you all seem to like to give.
Perhaps without us, you would not feel so good about yourselves!
That said I really am grateful and I hope I can ask again for help. |

Trust me, Andy and I were NOT referring to you or your issue.
Anyway, once the dowload takes place, extract the 2 files from the zipped folder using WinRar or similar tool.
Then use Explorer to copy the 2 files from where you extracted them to the specific map folder on your unit.
Once there, you'll see Wetherspoons and its logo in the list of poi categories to navigate to. _________________ David |

thanks David, I hadnt taken offence...honest. I thought the banter was funny.
Anyway I extracted the files and copy pasted into the poi folder on the tomtom but they did not appear as an option I turned on the unit. Any ideas? |

No, not the poi folder, they go in the specific MAP folder on your unit (Western_Europe, maybe?) _________________ David |
