Hi All,
At the moment my 720 is running app.8.351 & the map Western-Europe
V 720.1803 and I was thinking it's about time I bought a new map.
TomTom is offering me W-Europe V8.45 which is 2gb in size. The problem
is I don't have a clue how to install it, and I can't find any guides in FAQ's or looking back on the forum.
Do I place the new map over the old one, or uninstall the old one first, or download it to a SD card and leave the old map were it is ?. If so what size card should I get as I will want to put pgpsw speed cameras on and some poi's also. Any help or pointer's in to were I will find the answer would be much appreciated.
Thanks Alan |

Alan, I would suggest you get a 4GB card to save on "fun and games" but remember the device can support anything up to and including 32GB in capacity so if you want to load up a large music collection an 8 or even 16GB card might be better, go for a class 6 type of card in either case as these are faster and purchase from a reputable source, not e-bay).
TomTom Home should install your new map straight to the device, if there is an issue with storrage capacity it is possible to free up space by removing certain files that would never be used, but the SD/ SDHC memory card is by far the easiest option and they cost very little these days - Mike |

With 8,351 installed your device will work with SDHC cards up to and including 32GB in capacity, pop the card in and it will work fine - Mike |

The 720 with the latest application (8.351) can handle 32 gig sdhc cards, as was pointed out to you by Mike.
2 gigs is just the size of internal storage on the device. So, in effect, if you wanted, you could expand total available storage to 2 + 32 = 34 gigs. _________________ David |

Thanks to both of you it just show what letting your subscription lapse for several months can put you so far behind.
