Have you installed any other 3rd party POIs to the PDA (from PGPSW or elsewhere) and do these work OK? That is any POI sets that are not in-built - the .ov2 files.
Try downloading and installing ONE poi set - any, it's just to test. I'm wondering if your download has gone wrong or got corrupted somewhere. |
I have speed camera alerts on that are from PGPSW( although I did not put them on ) they were there when I purchased the PDA . They work fine . I have tried to install a different POI file from PGPSW for LPG fuel stations & that has the same problem as my "associations2 attempt . I have also tried on a different PC incase it is my PC causing the problem . |

35 files ending .ov2 including the 2 I have downloaded but cannot get to work |

Can you see, in the TT menus, all the other 33?
Try changing the extension of 2 of them to .bak and see if you can use the 2 new ones. _________________ Richard

Yes I can see all of them in the menus .
.bak makes no difference
OOI what is .bak ? or was it just to take those 2 out of the equation to see if it was a limitation on the number of .ov2 files ? |

Just had a look at my old mio v6 backup and noticed that I had sometime changed my poi.dat to poi.dat.old, i think this maybe the tomtom inbuilt poi,s and cannot remember why i changed it perhaps may have caused a conflict, so suggest you add .old to the file and try, you can always change it back, perhaps clutching at starws on this one but might help. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

Very often the names conflicted with 3rd party POIs anyway and it was difficult to know which was which.

Can you check the properties of the new files and make sure that they don't have a double extension, ie. .ov2.ov2 or similar. _________________ Richard

Yes I changed 2 of the "known to work ones" & they did not then appear in the POI list in menu .
Just a single .ov2 on the files |

I'm running out of ideas now. Have you tried a Reset?
I'm not sure if taking the Card out (with the Unit switched off), works as a Reset with Navigator. I can't even remember if there is a Reset to Factory Defaults. _________________ Richard

I have performed a hard reset of the pda with the card in & with it out & I have now performed a reset to factory settings from the tt menu . no difference .
I think it is time to call it a day & accept that I am not going to add any POI files .
I do appreciate all of you good peoples time & thoughts in trying to get it to work |
