I'm wanting to add a safety camera database and camera icons onto my Medion PPC250. Which database do i download from the "downloads " section of this website?
Also i'm told you need to download POI Warner. Where do i find that? If its to be paid in Euro's, can i pay with my credit card and will there be a surcharge? Sorry for so many questions, its just i'm not too hot on this topic. |

tony i don't think you have to pay for any of the poi databases, they are free to use and i have never been asked to pay.
just click on the points of intrests on the left hand side of this page in GPS CENTRAL and follow the page and instructions on how to down load the uk camara data base you will need to have you PDA to be connected to your computer |

POI warner is not needed. You can use the free Checkpoint program found on this site.

For the Medion PPC you must use POI Warner as CheckPoint is for TomTom.
You can download POI Warner from navigating.de and as far Ias I am aware there is no surcharge on credit card purchase. I am using the Safety Camera Database from this site and it works very well, sometimes to well infact on the M25 it drives you nuts, but better safe than sorry. Remember to convert Safety Camera Database to ASSCI file before Syncing to PPC and make sure Camera GIF is named same as database file. Hope thats OK if not drop me a mail for further info.........Abb |

Whoa! Got it working 1st time. Thanks for everyones help. Just a couple more questions. 1. If I need to do a hard reset and install POI Warner again, would I get the same POI Warner ID number on installation on my PDA ? If not what is the procedure for re-installation?
2. Are there anymore free downloads I can use with POI Warner?
Regards...Tony |

Why don't you back up the whole PDA onto the SD card which has the GPS software on it, loads of room. Then if you do a hard restet you can put the whole machine back into a known working condition. I have done this several times on my PPC250. |

Sarma - I've purchased the latest Sprite backup, but haven't yet figured out how to make it back up to a flash card. I have backed up to my PC, which is ok if I am at home, but when I tried to back up to the card I couldn't see it

Please disregard the last post - I found how to select a card as a destination for the back up, and have done it successfully
