|
|
CoPilot is going release the Version 5 soon.
I have had chance to pay with the pre-release of UK copy.
New Features:
3D maps – supplied by NavTech.
Large Map Display – helps you to see the map rather than relying on the text instructions.
Automatic Route Recalculation - Directions are updated every second. If you miss a turn, you get new directions instantly.
Detour and Avoid Roads - Gets you around unexpected traffic or street congestion and lets you avoid roads.
Euroopean maps - including the UK includes: 3M miles of road, 27M addresses and 540,000 points of interest.
The CoPilot V5.0 is more complete than all other software in market today – I am sure all other manufactures will catch up soon.
The address searches are easy to use and accurate.
The display of maps is still no way near TomTom however maps are significantly accurate than TomTom and the map display is designed to do the job of giving you easy to read display without slowing down the route planning itself – something TomTom and Navman suffers from. I could not fault the accuracy of maps while I was playing around with it.
The way road numbers/names are spoken is also much easier to understand now.
The release date for UK/Europe is going to be within 3 to 4 months - it is worth the wait. |

Firstly, if you have managed to play with it, you should be under NDA which means Non Disclosure Agreement! And Secondly, you are way out on the release date!
This thread may be taken offline if discussion about CoPilot 5's features are discussed.
I can however say that I will be making an announcement this week about CoPilot 5. All I can say at this moment in time, is it's release is imminent, and everyone will get to read the world's first review of CoPilot 5 here which is our largest ever review! |

posted this in the other thread about the review, but its probably more relevant here;
...the software will be with them in 2 weeks, so you can order the UK software then, and it will ship over night.
The upgrade from INS or previous versions of co-pilot will remain at £100 plus p&p for co-pilot 5
Traffic support wont be 'turned on' until later on in the year.. |
