Hello there.
Yes I have it set to English & the Voice Command set to Complete, but still not working.
I can use the Bluetooth for telephone conversations OK.
When attempting to use Voice Command, the options are spoken to me then the icon in top left of screen requests a reply, but all my replies are not recognized.
At one time whilst in one of my download attempts, the message THE DIRECTORY FILE CANNOT BE CREATED (1132).
Helpline are looking into the problem, but if anyone has had the above error code would be interested how it was resolved.
Many thanks |

Not heard of that error before, are you getting a 'beep' noise after it asks for you to speak?
Normally you should get 1 beep to let you know it's listening and 2 beeps if it's not understood or heard you.
Bluetooth is unrelated as Voice command uses a microphone built into the Sat Nav itself not the phone connection.
See if you can locate the mic hole on the sat nav and as a test try it in the house held near you with no noise in the background. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

Yes I am getting 1 beep, then when I reply, nothing.
Tried it in the house but nothing. |

What exactly do you mean about the ROM flashing successfully? |

I'm not sure about my mic suggestion now - I think if I don't reply, it asks me again, so perhaps that should happen if the mic's dead.
Desperation then - try changing to a different language, reset, and see if that makes any difference. Then change back to English and do a reset (well, anyone suggest anything better? ) _________________ David

Well I received another code and when I tried to redeem it i had another message saying the voucher has already been redeemed. Hopefully Navigon should sort it out.
Why should it be so difficult to purchase the upgrade??
Has anyone else had problems ? |

After a few telephone conversations. the unit has been sent back to Germany.
Hopefully when it returns it will be fully operational.
Not exactly a good selling point if faulty units have to be sent to Germany. |

But they are (or were) pretty quick sending stuff - I got mine in about the same time as if I'd bought it in the UK. Was the post a lot more expensive? _________________ David

When they investigated an issue with my mount on the 8110 they sent UPS (yuck company) to collect the part and sent it back quite quick.
Things could have changed with the economy being like it is.
Sending it back to Germany isn't so bad as it least it's going back to somewhere that they know what they are doing. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |
