|
|
I have ordered a Go 750 and am looking for a Brodit Mount. The only one I can find shows a cable with an angled connector, but says that the cable is not included. To buy this cable is an extra £18. Before I shell out the extra, can anyone tell me if the cable that will be supplied with the 750 is compatible with the Brodit active mount? |

Assuming you mean the power cable, the one that comes with the 950 is angled. |

The existing power cable supplied with the 750 will fit the Brodit mount fine - Mike |

Hi TomDavison,
I've bought a TomTom 950 last week and yesterday I received the following Brodit goods:
#215393 TomTom GO 950 Active Dock Holder with Tilt Swivel
#942650 TomTom GO 950 Charging Cable
The 942650 cable is useful as it is coiled, the cable that comes with the 950 is straight, however it does fit the Brodit holder as mikealder says.
One problem that you may find if you normally use Brodit Mini Move Clips (#213005) is that the #215393 TomTom x40/x50 holder has a raised ribbed structure (for strength) on the reverse of the mount which gives a minimum footprint for the adhesive strip found on the Move Clip Mini.
I'm just about to email Brodit to see what they think.
Kind Regards, _________________ Robert.

Fill the void in the back of the Brodit mount with Araldite or similar once it hardens fully the move-it clip will have plenty of surface area to stick to - Mike |

I was intending to go the same route as Privateer with my 940 (though with the TomTom supplied cable) as I already had a Brodit ProClip for my Audi A4. However, I found I didn't need a Move-It Clip as, with a bit of care, the ProClip is easily detachable from where it clips in top and bottom of the A4's air vent.
It's a better solution really as when it is removed there is no sign remaining whatsoever of a SatNav in the car - it may not be possible in all instances though; perhaps I'm just lucky. |

The MoveClip comes into it's own when you want to use the same device in different cars or different devices in the same car.
Like you, my ProClip can easily be detached in my Megane so I remove it. However, in my old Focus, the ProClip was stuck fast so having half the MoveClip didn't make it 'look' like I had a satnav/phone etc somewhere. _________________ Gerry

True but in my case I have the original screen mount for the odd occasion when I might want to use the 940 in the another car. Other than SatNav, I'm not one for gadgets in cars - driving ain't what it used to be..... |
