Maps on a MicroSD card will work fine on the device, it can accept cards up to and including 32GB in capacity although you should only need a card of around 4GB capacity for that device - Mike |

Hi
Thanks for the info, just one more thing, not sure if you can help. I have just paid for the new map updates, for the next year, first download last week 845, now this is for the full maps on my 920 t so if I got the 550 can i carry over the updates and would they be only for the uk map, OR if I went for the 750 would the updates get carried over to the new tomtom???
many thanks,
Lyngarth
P.S Thanks for the link, Paulday, will make up my mind tomorrow and order then. |

If you contact TomTom support and provide some evidence that your 920T is no longer working, they will probably allow you to transfer the balance of your map subscription to the new 550. Many people have reported that this was allowed.

Transferring maps etc should be done automatically

Question
Linking a new device to your MyTomTom account
If you replace your device you can update your MyTomTom account in TomTom HOME.
Note: You can only change the device that is linked to your account once every six months and this action cannot be undone. Any services (eg. safety cameras, downloadable maps, etc.) you may have will be transferred to this newly linked device and you will no longer be able to use your services with your old device.
Follow these steps to update your account with a new device:
Connect your new device to your computer.
Launch TomTom HOME and log in.
A window will pop-up stating that the connected device is not linked to your account.
Click Update your account from the list of options.
If this is not possible contact TomTom Customer Support for assistance |
