presumably the last two cams would trap people doing over 50 betweenthe second last and last, regardless of the fact that the last cam is in a 40MPH.

Thanks, that's what I was trying to say in my post. Smile

Are we maybe looking for problems/complications that aren't there?

So what, if the limit reduces to 40 just before the last camera?
If the entire set of SPECS is set to 50 it will catch anyone doing 50 (+the safety margin) through the whole system. . .

True from the drivers viewpoint but if I looked at it from the viewpoint of a toll booth attendant I might just want that 40mph limit properly monitored

Should we celebrate the first anniversary of these white elephants?

Actually that was on May 9th but fact is they're still not turned on, they're still shown as active in the database, and the bridge authorities are still encouraging traffic to exceed 50 by having both their own and the police vehicles well exceed 50 etc etc

Yeah, let's do that. I wasn't sure what number to put on this - could you remind me what the legal speed limit is on the bridge, please?

I went across the QE2 bridge today I noticed that the speed camera signs are no longer crossed out with grey spray paint so maybe these specs have now gone live Exclamation

When I crossed yesterday the traffic on the bridge was noticeably slower than when I last crossed (mid Jan) and the 50mph limit was more or less being obeyed with just a few cars exceeding it.

On the other hand, when I returned through the tunnel, I was 'pushed along' to the toll booths by a van driver for whom 50mph was nowhere near fast enough.

The camera signs are definitely unobscured so they could well be live now.

Hold your nerve and don't speed up - stick to the inside lane leaving him a lane for overtaking you. He's an idiot. If you're using your satnav speed indicator, he'll have to really be pushing to overtake, so he deserves to be caught. He's probably one of those Sprinter/Transit/Movano etc drivers who believe they are allowed to do 70 on the motorways. Evil or Very Mad

I can also confirm the bridge traffic is noticeably slower this year and there's got to be some reason why the new signs have been put up. Some web sites are saying the cameras are now active. I don't know, does anyone?

Traffic pushing you above 50 in the tunnel? Never had an issue in the tunnel but it has been a real issue on the bridge esp when the official vehicles often went over 50. Trying to stick to under 50 while positioning for the DART preference lanes was too often less than safe.

I agree with marmitebcfc. I cross the bridge regularly and all the "Not in use signs" and the grey paint were all removed in January. They are still all there on the Northbound towards the tunnel.
