Hi,
Please could someone tell me how to set the distance of voice warnings for speed cameras on the igo.
Been searching for days on forums without an answer. Ideally warning 400 yards before every camera.
I have the voice alerts working but cannot adjust distence control. Do i need a gps fix before changing these?

It's not possible with the standard iGO, some skins will allow you to change this distance but this may not be the best option since iGO dynamically adjusts the distance according to your speed and setting it to a fixed distance disables this.
If you want to experiment then these settings are available via sys.txt:

warn_distances=130:450,110:350,90:300,60:200,40:100 ;These numbers are apparently in the format of speed and distance.
Edit: I see that you said "voice warnings" which implies that you are already using a skin since iGO doesn't have voice warnings only beeps.

I have done some experimenting with the above values, and they do what they imply. Angles are in degrees, distances are in meters and speeds are in KPH. The 'Warn_distances that I use are rather larger than those shown above
EDIT
'section_beep_distance=200'. Disappointingly, atering this will not give an advanced warning of specs. |
