I've now downloaded the UK speed cameras succesfully and changed all the settings to 400m etc on the POI.

Is there a way to change the warning beep to a more civilised voice, warning of impending cameras??

Many thanks.

Depends on your device. Some you can type in a warning which the computer voice will read. Some have the option to Record your own warning. Scroll down on the 'Select a warning sound' screen to the end and see if either option exists.

Other devices, with Text to Speech enabled, enable you to type the warning of your choice which is then read out by the computer voice. The advantage is that the volume levels match the navigation instructions.
I have set up warnings such as Gatso 30 30 or Mobile 50 50 on my 720 and it works very well

All TomTom nav units can use the ogg files including the rather basic Start unit although I still need to write up the instructions on how to get the Start setup (its easier than any other device to be honest).

The ogg files are by far the quickest way to get spoken alerts on any of the TomTom units, using TTS is viable but it will take considerably longer to set up - Mike

Or you could go here

and select which voice you want.

The selected voice is dropped into your map folder.

Many thanks for all your helpful replies.

I now have the lovely Liz warning me about those pesky Gatso's.

Thanks again.

Do you want the voice files so Liz can also perform the navigation instructions? if so send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send over the required files, the unit sounds so much better with a single voice used for both nav and camera alerts - Mike
