If you want to hardwire your TomTom you can use this;
7DayShop
I have one on my 940 and it works great. It has a built in transformer to lower the voltage. I have been using it daily for around 4 weeks with no problems whatsoever.

That's a nice find. I've never spotted that in Arkon's product catalogue before but it's a very neat solution. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Neat, but quite a lot more expensive then buying a cigar lighter socket and a metre of 2-core cable and putting the original power supply behind the dash. |

For most purposes a cigarette lighter extension with socket will suffice I agree albeit it's not quite as 'nice' a solution and you do need to ensure you protect against shorts etc
The Arkon device outputs 1A whereas most if not all cigarette lighter chargers output less than half that so it would charge quicker. _________________ Darren Griffin |

After your experience of the last few months I guess you'd know all about that!
Don't forget there's already a fuse in the CLA.

The TomTom ones I have are all 1.2 or 1.5 Amp. |
