Hi
I have a problem with my 540. When I turn it on it displays some sort of system setting screen. Things like software type, gprs settings, screen manufacturer etd. It's all in a list in small white text. The most interesting line is that the startup settings is set to power down? I seem to be able to get it working eventually by leavign it alone and/or turning it off and on again.
Any thought on what this is and a possible fix?
PS
The problem seemed to start when I started up the car whilst the TomTom was on the mount connected to the cig lighter.
Thanks |

The screen you describe is almost certainly the hidden maintenance screen but why it is appearing and how you resolve it I don't know sadly.
Hopefully someone will be along to point you in the right direction but if not perhaps a call to TT support may be in order? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Shot in the dark here.....
Is it possible the power button is 'sticking' when you turn it on rather than it actually 'popping back' (I don't know a better way to describe it). _________________ David |

It could actually be the power switch sticking, it seems a little loose. I assume that this somehow enters the unit into this maintenance mode. |

Holding the power button and not letting go will yield the diagnostic screen for any model. That's why I suggested the possibility of the button sticking in the down position. _________________ David |

That bit's normal, it's just showing the last state it was in before you booted up.
No idea why it should be going to that screen on a normal startup though (other then the one already suggested). |
