One possibility is Inforad which do several models, including the K1 which you will find discussed in several threads - Darren Griffin uses one; you might like to check his posts. You will see one or two others mentioned as well. The K1 uses the PGPSW camera database, and is around £40 I think so quite reasonably priced. As with most devices discussed, of course, you will find a mixture of and . _________________ David

My overriding argument about SCD's is that, without a map, the warnings lose much of their usefulness.
Nothing beats hearing an alert and being able to quickly glance at the map and identify the threat type and location. Only a map based device can do that.
A budget TomTom ONE offers that functionality at a low price and in a compact form factor.
Also, nice as factory-fit satnav's are, they rarely offer the functionality of a modern PND. I have a factory-fit system and good as it is, it is nowhere near as good as any number of PNDs I have at my disposal. _________________ Darren Griffin |

having read around the forum a little more, I'm tempted to wait for either the ipod app, or maybe better, the AlerteGPS rumours....
Any idea of timescales? I'd love one of those to be available before half-term...? |

it's not been tested and has been written specifically using the iphone part of the SDK... so, at the moment, it is probably just iPhone!
