I noticed a few the other day.
Also, I believe I saw an 'infrequent visitor' label as well. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

as for backing up .... |
Normally I would, but I had to find something different because I had several problems with FF reverting to default and losing my profile. I suspect something was corrupting the profile. Each time I did a clean install which was a bit of a chore, and this got round that. It just leaves me customize the tool bar and import bookmarks and addon settings.

in windows go to: START / RUN / firefox.exe -p
and you can set the default profile there. |

Thanks for that MaFt.
Likely that C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxx.default folder became corrupt.
Extensions and bookmarks disappeared, reset toolbar, more worrying kept getting a security error message "SQL missing" or similar and could not update. Tried troubleshooting Google/FF suggested some files had changed to read only, but it wasn't that. Even created a new profile without success.
Easier to bite the bullet and clean install.
This was several versions ago and have not had a repeat. |

FF 3.6 is out - for the Mac anyway.
Appears about 11 of my addons/themes don't work on it though. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

Mmmm, looks a bit of a mess at the moment.
None of the shortcuts on Bookmarks Toolbar have been saved, copied a couple across and they won't allow just the favicon to stay - have to have the name as well.
Hardly any of the themes work , just various shades of grey at the moment.
Oh well. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

I have not updated yet, but only IE tab for me is non compatible so that's good.
I was reading up on the test version last night on the FF forum, one or two unimpressed with the persona element that apparently cannot be uninstalled.
BTW MS are playing catch up see here. Windows update has just installed my security update and offered IE8, which I declined. |

Found the Portable version of FF3.6 so I installed and ran from my stick before committing my laptop installation.
Works good enough to update my lappy version this evening. No problems to report, my extensions work fine except IEtab but there are alternatives.
Claimed to be a faster experience but this I cannot confirm from a slow stick.
Cannot see what the negatives I read about are with the Persona element. OK the code is in there but I don,t have to select a theme. Tried half a dozen and all work fine, but I'm a bit of a plain Jane so default it is for me.
Below is a sample of my desktop, click for the bigger image to judge for yourselves. I am sure some will love the ease with which these can be previewed and quickly applied. The collection is huge and growing. Perhaps a PGPSW eh MaFt?
No offence to any Jane's intended |

Yep,
All of my 'addons' have been updated now as well, i think there is one Theme that hasn't, but no great shakes.
Main thing is that the 'Tabs' and other extensions I use are working. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

i started on one aaaages ago but never really did anything with it... the main issue is that it's hard to try layout when the mac and windows versions of FF have different screen layouts and then any addons / toolbars etc also affect it...
i might see if i can find my files that i started!

Never thought I would, but I like the Grayfox persona that I now use. Just a couple of adjustments to TabMix Plus to complete the look.
A decade too late for Netscape Navigator but look what turned up in today's Windows update. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976002. Choices, choices. |
