Got a custom routing profile that works for you? Share your settings here.

By default CoPilot ships with a default profile that works very poorly for UK drivers with 55mph MWay speeds etc.

You can easily create your own custom profile which is infinitely tweakable to suit.

To enable the option:

1. Settings
2. Show More Settings (if not enabled already)
3. Routing Profiles

Copy my example below and edit with your own preferred settings.

This is my current profile.
I also find that 'Economic' is better than 'Shortest' or 'Quickest'.

This is my current profile and seems to give good ETA except when I go anyway near the M25 Evil or Very Mad

I also live in the country so town speeds are quite quick Cool

Hmm, using Darren's settings on a journey from the A34 in Oxford to half a mile from it's end in Winchester, all was fine until Co-Pilot wanted me to leave the A34 at Chievley (to join the M4 perhaps?). I immediately changed all settings to Neutral and that at least got me routed all the way on the A34. I'm beginning to think that road type preferences are best left to the requirements of specialist vehicles, and that accurate routing is dependent upon changing the defaults to each speed limit. Thoughts?

I've just arrived back home tonight from Nottingham, and always use the A34 and to be honest, bombing South,I wasn't told to head on to the M4, but straight on as I would expect. I haven't touched the settings, but what should they be to avoid the above situation, I just want to get from A - B in the quickest fashion but not with stupid routings being planned for me...I have enough grief from my wife without continually being asked 'why are we going this way?'

Know the feeling. Since the last update. I've not been routed onto the M4, but heading South just before Chievley, CoPilot-8 is determined to get me to fly 40 foot into the air and join an overpass. You'll only attempt to follow such a daft instruction the once, thereafter you'll manage to ignore the app's stupidity!

Voice instruction and 'next manouver' indicators indicate its essential to turn left, but the map shows that a) there's no exit b) you should continue along the road you know you should follow.

I've used CoPilot-8 up and down the UK, and it's largely reliable.

ETAs seem most accurate if you set all road types to Neutral and are sure to change the speeds to those you think you're likely to hit on the relevant types.

But I've tried creating a new Profile several times, Saving it when completed then selecting it for use, but whenever I select a new Destination CoPilot always uses the Default Profile - despite having selected the "new" profile.

And - when CoPilot is closed and restarted the new Profile has vanished.

CoPilot Tech Support suggests downloading the latest version from Android Market - but as my copy was installed from CD/DVD it doesn't appear in my list of Apps and the only
option on Android Market is to "purchase" the latest update.

Has anyone else experienced this?
