|

I need to replace my TT GO520 as I'm desperate to have my Live Traffic back which I lost when I changed my phone to an iPhone.
Reading all the reviews, I've gathered that the TomTom app doesn't offer traffic. It appears that the Navigon is a good app but I can't work out if the live traffic is available in the UK or not from the Navigon thread?
Sorry to be so dense but as live traffic is pretty much the single most important thing to me, if I can't get an app that does it I'll be looking at the TT GO550 Live instead - could do without £7.99 a month subscription though, if there is a way round it.
TIA,
Sarah |

Navigon iPhone app offers you the chance to purchase the Traffic service but as yet you get no data in the UK so its about as good as useless.
IF (and its a big if) TomTom decide to play catch up and offer a Traffic system for the iPhone application it will take a real market lead IMHO, lets face it iPhones have a data connection available all the time so why not use it?
If I were you I would wait a while and see what prevails over the next month or two, if Navigon fix their UK Traffic system then great as its a good application - Mike |

Thanks Mike.
*stamps foot* but I need my traffic updates back now!
Hmmm dilemmas.
Do I stick a PAYG sim in an old phone that I know will pair with my GO520 and get my traffic that way?
Do I fork out on a new TT with HD Traffic plus the subscription?
Do I somehow hang on and see whether either TT or Navigon sort out traffic on their apps?
Someone tell me what's best |

If traffic is most important to you then get Trafficmaster's Smartnav.
I have Navigon and Tomtom but find I am using Smartnav all the time now because the traffic info is excellent. Navigation is good too once you get used to its quirky (no maps) interface. |
