Hi Alabama978
The product that you have ordered is often referred to as a beanbag and its a brilliant piece of kit. I own one and I can place it anywhere on the dashboard in any vehicle and it will stay in place even over the roughest of roads.
However, there is one thing that you must bare in mind and that is that the original holder that came with your 720 will not fit onto the beanbag (at least, not on mine). So be prepared to buy another Holder. That said, you will have no regrets concerning your purchase and the price that you are paying for the product is excellent _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

I didn't buy the mount as I found the 720 mount unsuitable as Trevor1234 has posted. Perhaps I will find another mount and go back for the beanbag later as they had plenty in stock.

Bought one for my TomTom 950 and think it is great! Been looking at these for a while but would not pay £20 for one. Stable as pretty hefty, suction mount holds fine. The only thing is to make sure your windscreen mount will bend so the sat nav faces you and not the roof!

Many thanks for the information. I was after something like this for my wife and at 1/2 price it looks a real bargain.
I just happen to be passing my local store today so will pop in to collect it. Nice way to save £10 :-)
Thanks again

Just been to my Halfords, said the price is £19.99, and only half price if you buy a Sat Nav 1st.
They run it through the till for me as well, still said 20 quid.
Bit of a big lump of a thing mind. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

Arkon have a beanbag mount solution with new mount that will work with x20's (520,720,920) and x30's.
We reviewed the range here but there are packages with device specific mounts for many models.
See here. Available in the UK from these retailers. _________________ Darren Griffin |

, this is crazy.
It is a Webprice only but you can only reserve to pick up in store. I have just been through the system and reserved one and it clearly states this is the price you will pay......even if it is less than the in store price!
So, go in off the street and it is £19.99..........reserve one and it is £9.99

Yup. Same for PCWorld, Comet and many others now. Reserve before you go and you'll get it at the online price, plus they'll ring you if it not in stock (i.e. Stock Computer Errror) and you don't have to go wandering around the store to find it.... |

Aaaaaaah!,
Thanks for the info folks.
I missed the 'ordering' bit in the OP - my fault.
Darren thanks for the links, very helpful.
I saw the Aarkon set up before and it looked good. Going to have another sit down and see what suites me best.
I have an an additional problem in that i will be changing bikes in March and will be looking to 'fix' my TT720 to the bike, or maybe buy a TT Rider2 and ditch the 720.
Have to look at ht evarious spec and what i can do without. Will need to use in 2 different cars and the bike.
So looking to keep prices down, so to speak. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

Its always worth asking the manager of the store, if they won't play ball get your phone out and order one in the store on the internet via your phone, if nothing else it makes them look pretty stupid - Well worth it for a laugh - Mike |

Yep, that's what I did. Ordered/reserved it online then went to the shop to collect and pay for it. The box has a sticker which says "1/2 price when you but a sat nav". Instore price £19.99 - order online/collect instore £9.99.
You can order it online but you have to collect it. It seems a strange way to sell things but I'm not complaining :-)
Perhaps the thinking is "Oh, while I'm here I'll also buy . . . . ." which you wouldn't do online necessarily. |

Darren,
Can I assume that the Arkon CM012 (the beanbag) is OK to mount the 520/720 without buying the CM014 Mount?
I ask because I need to buy two beanbags and since both my 520 and 720 suction mounts are still quite new it seems unnecessary to buy the Arkon suction mount.
Looking at their beanbag it seems like there will be enough clearance for the 520/720 series. |

Sorry, can't answer as I no longer have it and can't recall testing it with the original mount, it was some time ago _________________ Darren Griffin |
