I need to buy a TomTom map of New Zealand. Is downloading it a straightforward process or is there anything I need to be aware of?
Presumably once downloaded I should make a back up onto my PC in the usual way.
Thanks. |

You don't say what model TomTom you have but if it is one with a sdhc card, make sure when you first connect to Home, you signify where you want the map installed, internal or card, by selecting your choice at startup.
I, too, bought the NZ map about three or four months ago. It's relatively small in size but bloody expensive!
Anyway, I chose to have it go on the same 4-gig sdhc card as I have my North america map. Just remember if you plan to put it in a location where another map resides, you must go to manage maps--select map--and choose the proper map when you want to get mapshare updates using Home.
Yes, once downloaded and installed, make a backup (Explorer) of your NZ map to the computer. _________________ David |

Sorry, it's a 930T without a memory card.
So, if I understand correctly, I should:-
1) Download the map to the internal memory.
2) Make a copy using Windows Explorer.
3) Select the NZ map and the do a Mapshare.
Is that correct? Thanks again. |
